Terms of use
The tool is free to use. What you create with it is yours, including for commercial work. It is provided as it is, with no warranty.
In one line: use it for anything legal, keep what you make, expect no guarantees, and do not rely on it for anything where a failure would matter.
1. What you may do
You may use this site to create handwriting animations for personal, educational or commercial purposes. You may publish, sell and monetise the videos and image sequences you export. No attribution is required, no licence needs to be bought, and nothing is watermarked.
2. What you make is yours
No claim is made over the text you type or the files you export. Nothing is uploaded, so there is nothing here to claim. The one qualification is the obvious one: your output can only be as free as its ingredients. If you type words you do not have the rights to, exporting them here does not give you those rights.
3. Fonts
The bundled typefaces are licensed under the SIL Open Font License 1.1, which permits commercial use of the rendered output without restriction. The OFL restricts redistributing and selling the font files themselves — an exported video is not a font file, so ordinary use is unaffected.
4. Images you supply
You can supply a background image and a photo of a hand holding a pen. You are responsible for having the right to use anything you supply. These files stay on your device and are never uploaded — see the privacy page.
The app ships with sample artwork for the hand. That sample is provided for demonstration inside the tool and is not licensed to you for redistribution; if you want a photographic hand in work you publish, use your own photo, which the app makes straightforward.
5. What you may not do
- Use the tool to produce content that is unlawful, harassing, or infringing.
- Forge a real person's signature or handwriting in order to deceive anyone. A signature animation is a graphic; it is not a legal signature and must not be passed off as one.
- Attempt to disrupt the site or the hosting it runs on.
- Reproduce the site itself and present it as your own service.
6. No warranty
The tool is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. Browsers differ. Video encoding in particular depends on hardware and browser support that is outside this site's control, and an export can fail on a device that cannot handle the resolution or frame rate you chose.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, no liability is accepted for lost work, lost time, lost revenue, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from using the site.
7. Your work is not backed up
Settings and saved templates live only in this browser's local storage. Clearing your browser data, using private browsing, or switching device or browser will lose them. There is no account and no copy on any server. Export anything you want to keep, and use Export config in the App panel to save a settings file you can import later.
8. Advertising
The site may show ads to cover hosting. Advertisers and their networks operate under their own terms and privacy policies, and no responsibility is taken for the content of an ad or for anything on a site it links to. Nothing from the editor is shared with them — see the privacy page.
9. Availability
The site is offered free and with no uptime commitment. It may change, move or stop being available at any time. Because everything runs in your browser, an outage cannot take your exported files with it — they were already on your device.
10. Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated. Continuing to use the site after a change means accepting the updated version. Anything that materially affects how your data is handled would appear on the privacy page before it shipped.
